Three-dimensional coronal density structure: 1. Model
[1] The three-dimensional (3-D) density structure of the solar corona is a fundamental boundary condition on the solar wind. Most easily applied models of the global coronal density have been restricted to date to axisymmetric 2-D cases. We present here a 3-D model made up of a superposition of multiple streamers, having distinct gaussian widths in longitude and latitude and both longitudinal a...
متن کاملThree-dimensional structure of low density lipoproteins by electron cryomicroscopy.
Human low density lipoproteins (LDL) are the major cholesterol carriers in the blood. Elevated concentration of LDL is a major risk factor for atherosclerotic disease. Purified LDL particles appear heterogeneous in images obtained with a 400-kV electron cryomicroscope. Using multivariate statistical and cluster analyses, an ensemble of randomly oriented particle images has been subdivided into ...
متن کاملThermoelastic Interaction in a Three-Dimensional Layered Sandwich Structure
The present article investigates the thermoelastic interaction in a three-dimensional homogeneous and isotropic sandwich structure using the dual-phase-lag (DPL) model of generalized thermoelasticity. The incorporated resulting non-dimensional coupled equations are applied to a specific problem in which a sandwich layer of unidentical homogeneous and isotropic substances is subjected to time-de...
متن کاملA THREE DIMENSIONAL HTLV-1 MODEL WITH INTRACELLULAR AND IMMUNE ACTIVATION DELAYS
In this paper, a three dimensional mathematical model for HTLV-1infection with intracellular delay and immune activation delay is investigated.By applying the frequency domain approach, we show that time delays candestabilize the HAM/TSP equilibrium, leading to Hopf bifurcations and sta-ble or unstable periodic oscillations. At the end, numerical simulations areillustrated.
متن کاملThree Dimensional Structure and Energy Balance of a Coronal Mass Ejection
The Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer (UVCS) observed Doppler shifted material of a partial Halo Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) on December 13 2001. The observed ratio of [O V]/O V] is a reliable density diagnostic important for assessing the state of the plasma. Earlier UVCS observations of CMEs found evidence that the ejected plasma is heated long after the eruption. We have investigated the ...
